Love Lost

So... we're in a program called "Pets for Life".

We're so glad we could meet this kitty for a couple months. And we're so sad to see her go. "Pets for Life NYC" is an amazing program that helps keep pets out of the shelter system. If you live in NYC and have room for a cat or dog to live with you temporarily, PLEASE consider this program and consider taking a pet into your home.

We fell in love with Godiva the day we took her home with us, but we're so happy we can give her back to her true owner.

Transitions

Today I started this blog... in case the internet needed more random data.

Today I said goodbye to one of my best friends. We both just graduated from UCSC and are moving on with our lives.... he's going back to Santa Monica and I'll be heading off to New York for graduate school.

A couple of years ago he told me something along the lines of "I wish I could go back and do college again now that I know how to do it the right way". I thought about that many times over the last couple of years, trying to remember that, in the long run, there are things I should do and experiences I should have outside of textbooks. I told him that today, that I had frequently thought about how he had impacted me with that line, and he responded:

"No, Diesch,  don't live with regrets. I have a new life motto that 'we are always in transition'. We can't live for the past because we are always moving forward".

Today and every day we are all moving forward; every day and moment is a culmination of every experience, place, and person we have ever known. We may be moving further from the ones we love, but our past will always be a part of us, and those we love will always be a part of us.

Oh, and long live Battle Cat.
